Notification Activity log

The notification Activity log records changes to communication records, including memos, announcements and personal notification preferences. Use it to investigate an action and its recorded context. Delivery attempts, inbox reading and task completion have separate evidence.

Access needed

Access depends on your assigned permissions and workflow scope.

Read/filter notification Activity log events and compare recorded changes
audit.read

Independent of inbox access, memo sending, template management and delivery-log reading. Current record views retain their own permissions; masked values remain withheld.

Role and permission labels

Typical responsibility: Authorized communication investigator. Role names alone do not grant access.

  • Read the service Activity log

Demo screenshots may show broader access than your account.

Open communication history

Open Notifications → Activity log. Review Action, Occurred, Entity type, Entity ID, Actor, Subject ID and Changes together. Notice is the record type used for announcements.

Trace communication changes
Read-only communication history; delivery and recipient actions are separate.

The demo includes Created events for a fictional announcement and an unsent memo. Creation proves the record was created; it does not establish that a memo was submitted, approved or sent. Other communication records, such as help desk categories, can appear in the same service history.

Find the relevant record

  1. Narrow the record type and action

Open Filter records and choose Entity type and Action. Use the record's Entity ID when you need the history for one particular memo or announcement.

  2. Distinguish actor and subject

Actor ID identifies the caller or process recorded for the action. Subject ID identifies its associated subject; it is not always an employee number or the person who performed the action.

  3. Check the time range

Use From date (UTC) and To date (UTC), keeping the end on or after the start. Compare them with the occurrence time displayed in your local timezone.

  4. Review remaining scope

Check filter chips and pagination. Remove filters or Reset if the search is too narrow. Use Refresh activity log to reload the results; a failed load is different from finding no events.

Find a specific event
Read-only communication history; delivery and recipient actions are separate.

Inspect exact references

Select an event and open Details. Compare Action, Actor, Entity type, Entity, Subject and their IDs. Keep the Event ID when asking an authorized administrator to inspect the same occurrence. A Correlation ID may also be recorded for tracing related processing.

Inspect recorded references
Read-only communication history; delivery and recipient actions are separate.

A friendly actor name helps reading, while the recorded IDs identify exact references. Some actors can be system processes. Read the event context before attributing an action to an individual.

Compare recorded changes

Open Changes, search changed fields or values, then expand Compare for the field you need. Read Before and After together. Creation commonly has no previous value; that does not mean data was accidentally cleared.

Compare an audience value
Read-only communication history; delivery and recipient actions are separate.

The demo comparison shows the memo's audience at creation. Its current state remains Draft. The Changes count is a count of recorded fields, not recipients, deliveries or people affected.

Choose the right evidence

QuestionWhere to check
Who created or changed a communication record?Activity log event details and recorded changes.
What is the memo's current workflow state? The current memo and its available workflow actions.
Did an email or SMS reach the provider?Delivery log status and provider details.
Has a recipient read or acknowledged a memo?Authorized memo recipient tracking.
Is an inbox item read? The recipient's own inbox.
Is a task complete? The applicable task or source workflow.

See Memos, Announcements and Delivery log for the corresponding workflows. Audit access does not grant permission to change those records or inspect another person's inbox.

What was verified

The populated eight-event list, filter menu, memo-creation Details and expanded Audience comparison were inspected in light theme. Four screenshots reuse the shared viewer. No record change, export or outbound message was performed. Restricted-account audit access was not tested.
