Attendance for employees

Use your own Attendance page to record when you start and finish work and to check your saved records. Review your weekly timesheet before sending it for approval.

Access needed

Access depends on your assigned permissions and workflow scope.

Read your own attendance and weekly timesheet; submit your week

Sign in with an account linked to your employee record. This grants only your permitted own-data scope. Weekly submission/reopening follows status and open-interval rules; no attendance.read permission is required for own reads.

Role and permission labels

Typical responsibility: Employee. Role names alone do not grant access.

Clock your own arrival and finish

Demo screenshots may show broader access than your account.

Open your Attendance page

In My Workspace, select Attendance. This shows your own records and the clock actions available to your account. Your sign-in account must be linked to your employee record, and clocking requires the appropriate access.

If Attendance is unavailable or Clock in/out is disabled, contact HR. Employee self-service is different from the administrative Attendance → Records list used to manage other people's records.

Your attendance
Use the employee toolbar to clock in and out; these records belong to the signed-in employee.

Clock in when you start

  1. Select Clock in

Use Clock in in the top toolbar. This opens Confirm clock in; opening the dialog alone does not record attendance.

  2. Check the date and time

Review Clock-in date and Clock-in time, which use your device's time zone. The dialog starts with the current time. Change it only when needed to record the actual start and your organization's process permits it.

  3. Confirm and verify

Select Confirm clock in once and wait for the result. Check your list for the new open record. Choose Cancel if you do not want to clock in.

Confirm your start
Check the actual date and time before confirmation.

You cannot clock in again while another record is open, during a conflicting interval, or on a date blocked by approved leave. Employees who have not started employment cannot clock in. Do not create repeated clock-ins to work around an error.

Clock out when you finish

  1. Select Clock out

Open Clock out in the same toolbar. It closes your latest open attendance record; it is not a way to create a record when no clock-in exists.

  2. Review your actual finish

Check Clock-out date and Clock-out time. The finish must be after the clock-in. For overnight work, check the calendar date as well as the time.

  3. Confirm and check the saved hours

Select Confirm clock out once, wait for success, and review the record. It should now have a finish and calculated hours. If the result is unclear, refresh and check the record before retrying.

Confirm your finish
Clock out closes your latest open record.

Check your records

Use Filter for record date or status, and Refresh attendance to reload. The table labels the record date as UTC while clock timestamps appear in your device's time zone. Around midnight, those visible dates can differ.

Open attendance details on a row to inspect its times, status, source, and notes. Your account may show view-only controls. Having access to your records does not automatically allow you to change or delete them.

Inspect your record
Controls depend on access; ask HR when a correction is needed.

Clocked identifies the normal clock workflow; Manual indicates an entry or correction made through management controls. An open record has no completed duration, so zero hours can mean a missing finish. Decimal hours are not minutes: 7.50 hours means seven hours and thirty minutes.

If you forgot a clock-in/out or find an incorrect time, tell HR or the person responsible for attendance. Provide the date, intended actual times, and a short explanation. There is no separate correction-request action promised by this guide. Do not use the current time to disguise an earlier missed finish.

Review your week

Open Attendance → Timesheets and select My week. Additional administrative tabs may appear for accounts with broader access; employees should use their own week.

Choose Previous week, Next week, the Week starting date, or Current week. Check the displayed employee, range, status, daily entries, and totals. Use View entries for a day's underlying records.

Review My week
Check the range, daily entries and totals before submitting.

Worked, regular, and overtime totals follow the timesheet policy shown below the week. Scheduled hours and variance compare recorded work with published shifts; a variance is not automatically an absence decision or a payroll deduction. Timesheet weeks use the organization's calendar and time zone, so do not assume they group records exactly like the UTC daily-record filter.

Submit your timesheet

  1. Finish checking the week

Confirm the week is correct and all intervals have an actual finish. Resolve missing or incorrect attendance with HR before submitting. You can submit the current week or an earlier one, not a future week.

  2. Review Submit week

Select Submit week, read the confirmation, and confirm Submit week only when the records are ready for review. Cancel the confirmation to keep the week open.

  3. Track the outcome

Check that the status becomes Submitted. This is waiting for review, not final approval. Return to My week to see whether it is approved or rejected.

Review weekly submission
This example confirmation was cancelled, leaving the demo week Open.
StatusWhat it means for you
OpenThe week has not been submitted, or has been reopened for corrections.
SubmittedWaiting in the approval workflow. Do not submit another copy.
ApprovedApproved attendance is locked. Ask HR to reopen the week if corrections are needed.
RejectedRead the rejection reason, make or arrange the required corrections, and resubmit. Use Reopen week when offered to return a rejected week to Open.

A week with an unfinished interval cannot be submitted. Rejected weeks can be submitted again after correction. The week is assigned to an eligible manager or HR approver. A successful approval completes this single decision; check the recorded status.
