FinTrax HR documentation
Find clear, practical instructions for working in FinTrax HR. Start with account access, then use the guide for the task you need to complete.
Access needed
Access depends on your assigned permissions and workflow scope.
- Use workspace features
Sign in to the correct workspace. Each module and action has its own requirements; see the Access needed section in its guide. Role names describe typical responsibilities, not automatic access.
Role and permission labels
Typical responsibility: Employee, manager or HR. Role names alone do not grant access.
Demo screenshots may show broader access than your account.
What is a workspace?
A workspace is your organization's area in FinTrax. It brings together employee records and the HR tools enabled for your organization. Your workspace address identifies which organization you are signing in to. The same email address can belong to more than one workspace, so always check the address before entering your password.
Your account permissions determine which pages and actions you can use. A job position, such as a department manager, does not by itself grant access to administrative tools.
Before you start
Have the following ready:
- Your organization's workspace address.
- The email and password for your account. If your administrator gave you a temporary password, you will choose a new one during your first sign-in.
- Your authenticator app, if your account uses two-step verification.
Get into your workspace
- Open your organization's workspace
Use the address provided by your administrator. Check that the workspace name is the one you expect.
- Sign in with your account
Follow the sign-in guide, including any password replacement or verification steps shown.
- Open the area you need
Use the workspace navigation. If a page or action you need is unavailable, ask your administrator to review your access. Signing in again cannot grant a missing permission.
Find your way around
On desktop, use the sidebar to open a dashboard or expand an area such as Employees or Organization. Select Search workspace in the top bar when you know what you want to find. Search results and menu options reflect your account's access.
On a phone, use the bottom navigation for common destinations. Select More to open the complete menu. You can also open it with the sidebar toggle at the top of the screen.

What comes next
We are documenting one module at a time. Overview, account access, organization structure, and the first employee guides are available now. Additional employee workflows, timesheets, schedules, leave, and payroll will follow as their workflows are reviewed. Attendance overview and daily records are also available. Only completed guides appear in the navigation and search.
Get help
For a sign-in problem, start with account access troubleshooting. For missing access, contact your workspace administrator and describe the page, action, and message you see. Never include passwords, verification codes, or recovery codes in a support request.
